Your task manager and online outliner - now with search

As they say, we are happy to announce. That during the last month we were testing and improving, changing and tuning, and finally it’s here.

Checkvist’s not very short list of features is enriched by two rather important ones:

  • cross-list search
  • single list live filtering

How do they work? We outlined the basics in the previous post, but here’s a brief video:

Here’s the search & filtering reference you can use:

ff or / set focus to search field
Enter search in all lists
cf clear filter
# or tag: find tasks tagged with a certain tag
due: overdue find all overdue tasks
due: asap all tasks marked ASAP
due: now tasks which are overdue, due ASAP and today
due: week tasks due this week (from Mon to Sun)
due: next week same, for the next week (from next Mon to next Sun)
due: month tasks due from 1 to 30/31 day of the current month
due: next month same for the next calendar month
in: open search in the open tasks only (default setting if due is specified)
in: closed search in the closed tasks only
in: all search in all your tasks (default if due is not specified)
changed: today include only tasks last changed today
changed: yesterday include only tasks last changed yesterday
changed: week include only tasks last changed this week
changed: previous week include only tasks last changed previous week
changed: month include only tasks last changed this month

Yes, the list became approximately twice as long during the last month, thanks to your feedback and participation. If you think we’ve missed something really useful and important, do let us know. The period of listening and tuning is everlasting in our development process.

The “else” part of this release includes:

  • Changes in the top navigation (now Due and Tags links are always at hand, not hid in the Lists (ll) pop-up
  • Edit box size auto-adjusting while you type
  • Keyboard shortcut reference available by typing ?
  • Working with notes on Due and Search results pages
  • Keyboard navigation fixed in the public lists
  • A number of bugs caught and fixed in different browsers (including the weird IE family).

Now as a big release takes off, we’ll be improving and extending the current functionality, so expect more frequent server updates and a couple of new features for our PRO users ;)
