Priorities, enforced https for PRO customers, and more

Color-coding was among Checkvist’s first features, but until now it could not fully serve as priority indicator. In this release we introduce a couple of new features and a handful of fixes that we believe are closing the “Add priorities” request in our user forum.

Simplicity

You have 6 priorities to choose from. All have the simplest key-shortcuts: select a task and type 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 - first three options set the text color, the latter three - the background color.

Power

What can you do with prioritized tasks?

  • sort any list by priority: press ss shortcut or click the Sort link in the toolbar
  • filter list by typing color:1 or priority:1 in the search field
  • filter by several colors by typing color: 1 color: 5
  • type color:any to filter out _any_ colored/prioritized tasks

You can also perform the same search through all your lists or filter tasks on the Due tab.

Our old shift+number shortcuts also work, but now there won’t be any problems with British or French or other keyboard types :)

What else?

  • one more security addition for the PRO customers - the enforced https communication with the Checkvist’s server. It means that now it’s the only possible way to work, and you won’t be exposed to http even if you type http://checkvist.com.
  • change color (priority) on the Due and Search Results pages (thanks @Jennifer)
  • now you can put tag in the beginning of the task as well: just start typing your task with tag:tag_name (thanks @Tyson)
  • changed shortcut from Enter to Ctrl+Enter for global search, and changed the text (thanks @Kevin)
  • fixed bug with closing all popups, when the LL popup (lists) is invoked (thanks @Oleg)
  • due:today support in search and filter (thanks @Jennifer)
  • fixed bug with search by due with incorrect time zone (thanks @Jennifer)
  • fixed task details update when a note is added, deleted or edited
  • fixed unnecessary page reload after note update
  • re-wrote a bit of CSS code so one could now hide notes author and time stamp via custom CSS, but not the note editing controls (thanks @Paul)
  • search and data re-indexing speed up
  • fixed bug with cut/paste operation within a list

If you have any comments, suggestions, bug reports - we’re listening :)
