Checkvist story
Helping people easily create, share, and collaborate on task lists and outlines
Tags: early access
Tags is a rather complicated feature. Especially if you want to keep the UI clean and simple :) We’ve spent quite a long time arguing and experimenting. And by today already have achieved some stage where you can try using tags and tell us what you think of the UI and interaction model we’ve chosen. We invite you to join our “early access” program and try out the following:
Add and edit tags to list items
Using smart syntax: type a tag after # at the end of a task. Autocompletion starts after you typed #, showing the list of your tags.

Using the tt dialog: type tt on a selected task or click a tag to invoke the Tags dialog window. Edit or delete tags there or filter the list by tag/s.

Find and Filter by tag
In the current list: press ff to invoke the Find & Filter bar. Then type the tag (autocompletion works) and press Enter.
All lists you have access to: press Ctrl+Enter instead of Enter - and see a list of all tag usages throughout all your lists.
On the search results page use arrows to navigate the list and the gg shortcut to go to a specific task (or a list).
Tag map: See the “Tags” tab on the index page, where all your existing tags are listed (all tags visible to you, both in your lists and in lists which were shared with you).
Missing features: Private and public tags, tag watching (email notification on tagged item change), tag colors, rename and merge tags, whole list tagging.
…and known issues: Visual design is in its “see what I mean” stage, tag export and import are not supported, tags are missing in the mobile UI.
Please login to http://beta.checkvist.com with your usual Checkvist credentials, try tagging your tasks and let us know about your ideas and suggestions: we’re always at kirsa@checkvist.com or http://checkvist.uservoice.com. Oh, and if you see a bug, don’t think we’re lazy testers! If someone could stop those people creating new browsers… :)
