Quick add tasks with contextual import

Sometimes you want to add a bunch of new list items from an external source - email, text file, or even a wiki page. And often you want to put this information under a specific node in your existing list.

The easiest way is to use contextual import with good old Ctrl-C, Ctrl-V:

  • Copy the text you want to import to Checkvist
  • ‘aa’ to open the Actions menu on a list item, choose ‘Import tasks’
  • Paste the copied list items into the Import dialog window
  • Voile! Checkvist will create one task per imported line of text

It is not a new feature, but can be quite useful when you keep your lists in one place, up-to-date.

Today when I was moving data from a .txt file to Checkvist, I thought it might be interesting for others as well. May be you want to share your own tips? A tip a day, what do you think? Shall we collect 365 ones? :)

Update Now you can invoke the Import window with the new im shortcut!
